Dimitri Makris is currently the Branch Lead and Systems Engineer for Odyssey Systems supporting the Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR) System at Hanscom AFB, MA. In this role, he leads a team supporting the government Program Office to support and sustain five radar systems across North American and Europe, providing early-warning detection and tracking of ballistic missiles and interceptors, as well as classification of space objects. Outside of the workplace Dimitri has had the opportunity to support Pride in Our Workplace (PIOW) for a number of years.
Prior to this, he had various roles Raytheon Technologies across many radar systems. These roles included technical design and leadership, to project execution across all engineering and business disciplines for many programs. In addition to these roles, he had the opportunity to serve as the regional Vice President for the GLBTA Employee Resource Group (ERG). As the leader for the group, he had the responsibility of promoting Raytheon’s Diversity and Inclusion policies as well as representing Raytheon Technologies as a liaison at Diversity and Inclusion related events. In this role, he was able to develop and implement innovative strategies to significantly grow the group as well as its impact to the community.
Dimitri earned his BS in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Business Administration from Northeastern University. During his time at NU, he was actively involved with many student groups and was selected for the Huntington 100. Early in his career he was selected for the Raytheon Microwave Scholars program and completed his Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering.
