(she/her)
DEIB Coach and Workshop Leader
PIOW Board Member
Ciara Gogan is a seasoned leader in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB).
With certifications from eCornell and Harvard Business School in Diversity & Inclusion
and Racial Equity respectively, she draws on over two decades of experience as a
woman in technology and a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community to empower
organizations in cultivating inclusive workplaces. Ciara has been recognized as a 2024
Mosaic honoree for Mass TLC’s Tech Top 50 Awards, and created and leads DEI Day
for Leadership South Shore annually. Beyond her achievements in DEIB, Ciara is
celebrated for her facilitation skills that foster open dialogue and growth. Inspired by her
experiences, she transitioned to coaching, empowering individuals facing similar
barriers. Her journey from technology to coach and on to DEIB leadership was shaped
by her upbringing in Ireland, where being gay was a criminal offense when she was
growing up.
This personal perspective fuels her commitment to fostering environments where every
individual feels valued and respected. As a coach and workshop leader, she has
empowered marginalized groups across various industries, and challenged
organizations to embrace discomfort and drive meaningful change. Her approach not
only addresses systemic barriers but also nurtures genuine understanding and
empathy, making her a trusted ally and advocate for inclusivity in every space she
influences.
In her last corporate role, Ciara pioneered groundbreaking initiatives, including a
company-wide allyship program, building and restructuring ERGs, and creating a
resource guide for gender transition, driving significant increases in workplace inclusivity
as affirmed by employee surveys. She is also a writer, with contributions to Huffington
Post, Thrive Global, and other platforms. Her writing amplifies the voices of
marginalized communities and challenges readers to embrace diversity, equity, and
inclusion.
